Comes with leads and manual.Designed both for the technician using signal injection and the technician using signal tracing as his main method of troubleshooting. Standard signals are available for injection into any stage from the antenna to the outputs, and the built-in meter may be used in addition to a scope for signal tracing. The VA48 provides all standard color-bar generator patterns to allow the technician to use present servicing literature. These patterns also mean that a separate generator is not needed to converge a color TV receiver once it has been repaired. In addition to the standard color-bar generator patterns, two patented alignment patterns knows as "Bar Sweeps" are provided to check or fully align any IF or Chroma Bandpass amplifier stage. These two patterns totally eliminate the need for a separate sweep and marker generator and are much easier to use. A single control is used for injection of any signal before the video, color, or audio detectors. This control allows injection of any of the VA48 patterns into the RF, video IF, or audio IF stages for troubleshooting or alignment. A second control provides all drive signals needed after the three detectors. Since all of the signals available from this second control are phase-locked to the RF and IF signals, proper operation of the receiver is obtained when a defective stage has been substituted. This control provides all signals for solid-state or tube-type receivers. The output of each drive signal is adjustable in both amplitude and polarity to allow stage-by-stage signal injections.
